Capybara music resources were never part of my lesson plans—until my students brought them into the classroom.
At the beginning of this year, I started noticing something curious in my music lessons.
My students —ages 6 to 11— arrived with capybaras everywhere.
Plush toys, backpacks, stickers, little figures… and they talked about them constantly.
And as often happens in my classroom, instead of ignoring the trend, I thought:
What if I use this excitement to motivate music learning?
Music Learning Driven by Motivation and Joy
I teach private, group, and online music lessons, and my approach is always the same:
I want my students to feel excited and truly enjoy learning music.
That’s how a simple but powerful idea was born:
a music repertoire sheet with capybara stickers.
Each student had their own sheet.
Every time they learned a new song or piece, they earned a capybara sticker to add to it.
Suddenly, practicing at home wasn’t a chore anymore — it became a game.
Almost like a music sticker album.
The change was immediate:
more motivation, more consistency, and a lot of excitement.
🎤🎹🎸 Music Resources for Different Instruments
I adapted this repertoire sheet for:
- singing
- piano
- ukulele
But in reality, it can be used with any instrument.
👉 I’ll be sharing this capybara-themed repertoire sheet as a free downloadable resource through a Canva link, so other music teachers can use it with their own students. (Link in English / Link in Spanish )
🎮 Capybara Adventure: When Students Inspire the Games
One of the most meaningful moments of the year happened when a 6-year-old student said to me:
“What if you make a game like the Wild West one… but with capybaras?”
She wanted a game to identify musical notes, but with capybaras as the main characters.
That same week, I started designing what became the first Capybara Adventure game.
When I showed it to her, the joy on her face said everything.
Moments like that remind me of something I truly believe:
the best teaching ideas are born in the classroom.

🌱 Closing the Year with Gratitude
This year was full of learning, challenges, and creative processes.
I’m deeply grateful for every idea, every game, and every joyful moment in the classroom.
I hope the coming year brings new inspiration, new resources, and more music to share — with students and with fellow teachers.
Thank you for being part of this journey 💛🎶
